Latvia Basketball Federation Partners with Synergy Sports

Latvia Basketball Federation Partners with Synergy Sports for Live Content Capture, Production and Distribution with the FIBA Connected Stadium

Latvia Basketball has partnered with Synergy Sports to capture, produce and distribute live games from the top two domestic men’s leagues and the top tier of women’s basketball. The partnership follows an extended search from the federation to find the right partner to launch an exciting new chapter in Latvian basketball.

As part of the partnership, 17 venues have been transformed into FIBA Connected Stadiums. Synergy Sports’ patented automated capture systems will underpin these arenas becoming fan-focused and commercial digital platforms to grow the game. Games from the top tier men’s and women’s leagues will also feature Synergy’s EVO automated graphics to provide contextually relevant statistics and data during livestreamed games. Seven venues with manual capture facilities will be incorporated to feature Synergy’s enhanced production services and be distributed in line with other games.

These FIBA Connected Stadiums will provide benefits for the whole Latvian Basketball Community. Instant replay will be available for referees, fans will have greater accessibility to watch games, coaches will receive valuable tools for assessing performance, and players and sponsors gain greater exposure.

Discussing the partnership, Synergy Sports CEO Mark Silver said “With Latvia having hosted FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2019 and FIBA EuroBasket 2015 ahead of this year’s FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup, Synergy Sports is excited to partner with a federation organizing such high-level events. We’re confident our technology and services will prove invaluable for growing fan engagement and attracting new commercial opportunities.”

Synergy Sports Partnerships Director Alistair Kemp said “The FIBA Connected Stadium will benefit all sections of the Latvian basketball community. With our technology installed across the country, the Latvian Basketball Federation has an incredible platform for digital innovation moving forwards.”

Secretary General of Latvian Basketball Association Kaspars Cipruss said “The Latvian Basketball Association has always been open to new ideas and modern solutions in all aspects of basketball life, including the use of modern technologies to promote our game. Cooperation with Synergy Sports is especially important as it will benefit a very large basketball community – spectators, our clubs and sports schools.”

Director of Latvian Basketball Leagues Kristaps Janicenoks said “Cooperation with Synergy Sports provides an opportunity to regularly organise high-quality broadcasts of basketball games from more than ten cities. It is a great solution for fans and a major opportunity for clubs of different levels to position themselves and their sponsors to the general public throughout Latvia, making basketball even more accessible and popular. ”
