Synergy Sports Backing Elite Women’s Wheelchair Basketball

Synergy Sports, a division of Sportradar has become the official Broadcast Partner of the Worcester Wolves basketball team in the UK.

All three of the Wolves teams, National Basketball League Division 3 Men, National Basketball League Division 1 Women and the British Wheelchair Basketball Women’s Premier League will have their home games streamed live and free to view for the remainder of the 2021/22 season and the 2022/23 season.

The British Wheelchair Basketball Women’s Premier League is an exciting new competition for 2022 and launches as the first professional para-sport league in the UK. The franchises are linked to four universities which will be centres of excellence for wheelchair basketball in the UK. These High-Performance Partnerships will develop and nurture wheelchair basketball talent, acting as hubs to incubate and develop future elite athletes and increase access to the Paralympic talent pathways across the UK.

Worcester Wolves Managing Director, Mick Donovan is very excited by this new partnership and it shows the positive direction in which the club are heading, he said; “We are delighted to enter the partnership with Synergy Sports and certainly believe that it will have a positive impact. There is a clear ambition with this initiative to not only increase the Wolves fan base, but also to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to follow the game”.

Broadcasting the games is an important step to increase awareness for wheelchair basketball and women’s sport in the U.K.,” said Alistair Kemp, Director of Sports Content and Partnerships at Synergy Sports. The Worcester Wolves YouTube Channel will be rebranded as Worcester Wolves TV, where you will be able to watch live basketball as well as interviews, highlights, special features and more.

The Live broadcast of games will commence on Saturday January 22nd.
