Patriot League Partners with Synergy Sports

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League has agreed to a partnership with Synergy Sports to implement the company’s innovative automated camera technology into each of the League’s basketball facilities, and to enhance the preparation and development of its 20 men’s and women’s basketball teams.

“Partnering with Synergy Sports is a positive step for our men’s and women’s basketball programs,” Patriot League Commissioner Jennifer Heppel said. “They are a leader in their industry with an excellent reputation and we are excited for our coaches and student-athletes to have them as a resource.”

Each Patriot League school will install the Synergy Sports automated cameras to automatically track, record and log practice and game action, assisting coaches and student-athletes with game preparation and post-game review. The addition of the Synergy Sports Technology’s solutions in Patriot League basketball venues will also provide the League and its officials with a trend-setting in-game three-camera replay system.

The partnership provides an additional teaching tool to allow coaches to work with student-athletes to develop their skills by providing detailed and enhanced analysis of practices and games.

The League coaching staffs will benefit from the efficiency of the system with teams receiving fully tagged footage of games delivered directly into the Synergy system for detailed analysis, reducing the process for assistant coaches from one day to two hours.

Installing our automated camera technology into Patriot League basketball arenas will bring huge benefits for coaches, student-athletes and referees across the conference,” Synergy Sports Technology CEO Mark Silver said of the partnership. “The big wins in speed and efficiency brought by artificial intelligence-driven automation have been more visible than ever with the challenges and disruption collegiate sports have faced over the past six months. Our partnership with the Patriot League stands as a model for innovation in collegiate athletics.”

“We are excited to work with a leading technology partner that will help with the innovation of film exchange, replay and technology for our basketball programs,” Loyola Maryland men’s basketball Head Coach Tavaras Hardy said.

“The partnership between the Patriot League and Synergy Sports will allow our teams to compete at the highest level,” Colgate women’s basketball Head Coach Bill Cleary said. “Synergy Sports provides every program in our league the opportunity to be more efficient in practice, game prep and player development.”
