Synergy Sports Enters Partnership with Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association

Synergy Sports, a division of Sportradar, has partnered with the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) to provide video coaching and scouting services to their 17 boys and 16 girls prep basketball teams for the 2021-22 season.

The OSBA represents the highest level of high-school aged basketball in Canada, with specialized daily training on and off the court that maximizes players’ potential and puts them in a position to succeed in post-secondary, national and international competition. Many graduates of the OSBA are continuing their playing careers in the NCAA, and at the professional level including the NBA in recent years.

Synergy Sports is a global provider of data, analytics, coaching and scouting tools. Synergy Sports delivers high level statistics and analysis, all tied to video content, making scouting, game preparation and player development easier and more thorough than ever before. Synergy coaching technologies have become the source of truth for team preparation and scouting for every team in the NBA and NCAA Division 1, as well as professional leagues around the world.

“The OSBA is excited to be working with the platform and the team at Synergy,” says Claude Nembhard, Executive Director of Ontario Basketball. “We know that Synergy works with a number of high-performance leagues and we are happy to be one of them and have this exceptional service. We are also pleased that we can provide this service to our athletes and coaches as it gives them experience on the platform as they move on to other roles within basketball.”

As part of the agreement, OSBA teams will be able to use Synergy’s best-in-class Video Scouting and Data Analytic tools to scout opponents and breakdown their own team’s performance. Additionally, OSBA student-athletes will gain invaluable exposure to NCAA and NBA teams through Synergy’s scouting services.

“Canada continues, at an increasing rate, to produce elite players & coaches within all levels of the basketball community, and the OSBA is at the center of the movement,” says Matt Curley, Basketball Account Executive for Synergy Sports. “We at Synergy are extremely excited to work with one of the best High School leagues in all of North America and continue our strong bond with basketball in Canada. We are proud to do our part to continue raising the exposure of elite quality basketball in Ontario.”
