WBSC and Synergy Sports Announce Technology Partnership

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and Synergy Sports have announced a technology partnership to bring Synergy’s suite of proprietary coaching and scouting video and data analytics services to the WBSC’s events, including the flagship Premier12 and the Baseball and Softball World Cups.

The partnership covers the 2021-2024 period and starts with this week’s WBSC Baseball Americas Qualifiers. Synergy Sports will provide coaching and scouting services through their industry leading technology and camera systems at select venues for assigned WBSC events, enriching the WBSC’s on- and off-field product.

The agreement also aims to provide Synergy’s video tagging services to the WBSC’s Members, while boosting the development of baseball and softball globally through access to and the use of technologically advanced coaching and scouting tools.

“The partnership with Synergy Sports will provide access to innovative tools to the WBSC’s Members, as we continue to grow and evolve our sport globally and into the future,” said WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. “Implementing the latest of what technology has to offer will also further enrich and modernise our World Cups/events, from scouting to coaching to the general viewing experience.”

Synergy Sports CEO, Mark Silver said, “The WBSC is the premier governing body of baseball and softball around the world, hosting the highest level of international events and tournaments in both sports. We are proud to partner with such an influential organization and leverage our technology to continue to improve baseball and softball around the world.

“We look forward to bringing our technologies and services to the best federations in the world” added Hide Sueyoshi, Assistant Director of International Baseball at Synergy Sports. “Enabling athletes and coaches to best prepare for elite competition is the heart of our company, and this partnership will allow us to impact the highest levels of international baseball and softball.”

Through the partnership, Synergy Sports becomes a WBSC Official Supplier, alongside Mizuno and SSK.
